Chief Minister congratulates Ms. Kiran Pisda for her selection in the Indian team
Ms. Pisda selected in Indian team for the South Asian Football Championship

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has congratulated wished luck to Ms. Kiran Pisda on being selected in the Indian team for the South Asian Football Championship 2022 to be held in Nepal. Ms. Kiran Pisda will play for the Indian team in the centre forward position. India is in Group A,and the first match will be against Pakistan. According to the information received from the Sports and Youth Welfare Department, Ms. Kiran Pisda, a resident of Balod district, was undergoing training at the Girls Football Academy run by the Sports Department at Swami Vivekananda Stadium, Raipur. It is worth noting that the Football Academy in Chhattisgarh has been started in the year 2020. Ms. Kiran Pisda is the first player from Chhattisgarh to be selected in the national football senior team.
Even before the establishment of the academy by the Directorate of Sports, regular training is being provided to the players through departmental coaches, in which Balod-based football player Kiran Pisda was training for the last 3 years. Kiran Pisda has been given regular training by the departmental football coach Mrs. Sarita Kujur Toppo. The Sports Directorate is setting up residential and non-residential sports academies of various sports, in which continuous efforts are being made to nurture the sports talents of the local players of Chhattisgarh.
At present, hockey boys and girls players are being trained by the Sports and Youth Welfare Department through international level trainers at Khelo India State Center of Excellence in Bilaspur. Here the players are also being provided accommodation, food and education facilities by the government. Soon the training of players is going to commence at the residential academy of Athletics and Archery in Bilaspur. Sports Department Archery Training Sub-Centre is also being operated in Shivtarai Bilaspur. Along with this, residential Girls Kabaddi Academy in Bilaspur and Residential Archery Academy in Raipur is also being started, for which selection trials of players have also been completed.
It is noteworthy that sports facilities are being expanded continuously in Chhattisgarh. Sports and Youth Welfare Department is running non residential hockey, archery, athletic and girls football academy in Raipur. Along with training, facilities like diet money and sports kits are being provided to these players. Khelo India Small Centers have been sanctioned in seven districts of the state. The Khelo India Center for Archery in Bilaspur and Bijapur, Hockey in Rajnandgaon and Jashpur, Football in Surguja, Malkhamb in Narayanpur and Volleyball in Gariaband is being started, in which all kinds of training facilities will be made available to the players.
