Shri Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store Scheme proving beneficial to the people
In Raigarh district, people get a discount of Rs.3.5 crore so far
Raipur, 04 August 2022 / Shri Dhanwantri Generic Medical Stores scheme has been started by Chief Minister Mr.Bhupesh Baghel on 20 October 2020 to provide high-quality generic medicines at discounted rates to the common people. This scheme provides generic medicines at affordable rates and is proving to be very beneficial for the people. This scheme eases the burden of patients and their families to purchase expensive medicines from the market and also saves their money. In Raigarh district, people have got a discount of Rs.3 crore so far under this scheme. Presently, Shri Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store is being operated successfully in 11 locations in the Raigarh district where high-quality generic medicines are being made available at discounted rates. Total medicines worth Rs.4 crore 37 lakh 33 thousand 251 have been sold so far, in which the public gets a discount of Rs.2 crore 84 lakh 19 thousand 634.Shyam Lal Yadav, a resident of Baradwar, said that his child was treated at Asharfi Devi Hospital. He purchased medicine at a 70.10 per cent discount from Shri Dhanwantri Generic Medical Store operating there. He had to pay only Rs.346 for medicine of Rs.1110. Since then he buys medicines from generic medical stores. Akhtar Hussain, a resident of Dharamjaygarh, said that he always purchases generic medicines, they are better and also available at discounted rates. 11 generic medical stores are operating in the Raigarh district. Out of these 11 medical stores, two medical stores are running in Raigarh city, one at Asharfi Devi Women’s Hospital and the other at the old Sarangarh bus stand. Shri Dhanwantri Generic Medical stores are running in all the urban body headquarters of the district, like in Dharamjaygarh, Sariya, Pusaur, Lailunga, Barmakela, Kirorimalnagar, Gharghoda, Kharsia and Sarangarh.
